In these myths that the Greeks believe in, there had to be a time when none of the gods existed, since they are the children of those who came before them. So, for example, when Nyx (the god of Night) appeared in the world, there was no starry sky at night time, since there was no Sky (Uranus) at the moment, and the stars were yet to be born. Going back in the chain of Creation, one should come to a first cause, an ancestor. Some have called this ancestor Chaos, but, some call it otherwise, or also pointed out several different ancestors; but in any case a beginning is found either in Chaos or in them.

MYTHS

In one ancient Greek myth of creation, According to the Theogony of Hesiod, Chaos made a solid mass which she called Earth, then from the mass arose the starry, cloud-filled Heaven for which later the gods would rule . Father Heaven and Mother Earth, (also known as Gaea) and their offspring Uranus, were the parents of the Titans.
